On Wednesday, 22nd July, our parish was filled with joy and thanksgiving as we gathered for the Home Mass of our seminarian, Edwin Kelly Obop, a member of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB). The Holy Mass was celebrated by our Parish Priest, Fr. Shadrach Malo, and brought together family members, relatives, friends, parishioners, and well-wishers in a spirit of prayer and thanksgiving.
The celebration was a beautiful occasion to thank God for the gift of Edwin's vocation and to pray for his continued journey of formation towards the priesthood. In his homily, Fr. Shadrach Malo encouraged the faithful to continue supporting and praying for seminarians and all those who have dedicated their lives to the service of God and His Church. He also reminded the Christian community of the vital role families play in nurturing and encouraging priestly and religious vocations.
A special highlight of the celebration was the presence of the parents of the other four seminarians from our parish. Their attendance reflected the unity and strong support among families blessed with priestly and religious vocations. Their witness served as an encouragement to the entire Christian community to continue fostering vocations through prayer, guidance, and unwavering support.
The celebration concluded with joyful fellowship, as those in attendance shared moments of gratitude and fraternity after the Holy Mass. It was truly a memorable day that strengthened the bonds of faith within our parish and reminded everyone of the importance of supporting those who have generously responded to God's call.
As a parish, we continue to pray for Seminarian Edwin Kelly Obop and all our seminarians, asking the Lord to grant them wisdom, perseverance, and abundant grace as they continue their formation. May He strengthen them to become faithful and holy servants of His people.
