On Thursday, 23rd July, the family of Seminarian John Omondi joyfully welcomed the Christian community to a special Home Mass held in thanksgiving for his missionary vocation with the Comboni Missionaries. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by our Parish Priest, Fr. Shadrach Malo, and brought together relatives, friends, neighbours, parishioners, and other well-wishers in a spirit of faith and gratitude.
The celebration was a beautiful witness to the importance of supporting those who have dedicated their lives to the service of God. Through prayer and thanksgiving, the faithful entrusted John to the Lord, asking Him to continue guiding, protecting, and strengthening him as he progresses in his missionary formation.
During his homily, Fr. Shadrach Malo encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in praying for vocations and to support young people who are discerning God's call. He reminded everyone that the Church continues to flourish through the generosity of men and women who willingly dedicate their lives to proclaiming the Gospel.
The occasion was further enriched by the presence of the parents of the other four seminarians from our parish, whose attendance reflected the unity of our parish family and its commitment to nurturing priestly and missionary vocations. Their support and encouragement served as a powerful testimony to the role of families in the growth of the Church.
Following the Holy Mass, those present shared moments of fellowship and celebration, expressing gratitude to God for the gift of John's vocation and for the blessings He continues to bestow upon our parish. The joyful gathering strengthened the bonds of faith and reminded everyone of the responsibility of the Christian community to accompany seminarians through prayer and encouragement.
As a parish, we thank God for the gift of Seminarian John Omondi and continue to pray that the Lord may bless him with wisdom, perseverance, and missionary zeal as he continues his formation with the Comboni Missionaries. May he remain faithful to Christ and become a devoted missionary, bringing hope and the Good News to all people.
